Who is RIPPINGDEXD?

Shezer Sherrin - Vocals, Guitar, Drum Programming, Synths, Mixing/Mastering

Formation

RIPPINGDEXD was formed in February of 2021 during the coronavirus lockdown, as I wanted to learn recording inbetween band activity. I came up with the idea of fusing the intensity and groove of HM-2 Deathgrind with the melody and emotion of 2000s Pop Punk, Metalcore and Electronic, not to mention the way Grime and DnB have gritty aggro in their own ways. So, I gave it a go! I threw together a demo, There's Nothing Easy About Easygrind and asked Jamie Holmes of Newbury easycore legends Big Drink to do a logo, and my dad's childhood friend Bone of Reading zombiedeath crazies Evil Brain Taste to do some guest vocals and there it was. On the momentum of this, I really took to making music and the rest is history.

Later on, after the release of 2023's debut album ANGER.SADNESS.HOPE, I began embracing a lot more electronic influences, namely DnB, UK Garage and Dubstep, which I 'steeped' stronger into the death metal melting pot and the result was 2024's EP THE PRISON OF POISON. This release cycle was supported by press coverage from Moshville Radio's Blegh Witch Project, which helped the momentum of the project; as did compilation appearances within the global cybergrind scene. 2025 brings a year of thrashy riffs, blast beats intersected with breakbeats and all sorts of dark electronic mayhem!

Influences

I'm influenced by many genres, bands, and things. From Death Metal to Dubstep, Nu Metal to Trap. Even the odd TV or Film quote gets a song going! Blame the 2000s MySpace scene for that :P

Interests

I enjoy Python coding, I support Swindon Town Football Club and West Ham United and in my downtime I tend to play boomer shooter games while letting IQ-dropping OSDM flow through me.
